Quotes Policy
Draft — wording under review
What we publish
Short quotations said by a named person about other named people or groups, reproduced for the purpose of commentary, criticism, and historical documentation, always with a citation to the original source. We publish excerpts, never full works.
What you affirm when you contribute
By submitting a quote, a correction, or any uploaded material, you affirm that the material is accurately attributed and sourced, and that anything you upload — text or images — is either your own work, in the public domain, or something you hold the rights to share.
The license you grant us
You keep whatever rights you hold in what you contribute. By contributing, you grant Please Quote Me a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, display, archive, and format your contribution as part of the library — including in feeds, search, and the markdown mirrors of these pages. Contributions stay credited to your handle. The quotes themselves remain the words of the people who said them; nobody is granting us rights over those, and we don't claim any.
Who can contribute
You must be 13 or older to hold an account. Reading requires nothing at all.
Sponsors & affiliate links
Sponsor flyers are always labeled, and sponsored links are marked as such in the page markup. Some outbound links may be affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you buy something through them. Sponsorship buys the flyer, never the editorial: no quote, figure, or book is ever included, excluded, or ranked because someone paid.
Takedowns
If you believe something here infringes your rights or misquotes you, write to us and we will respond within a 72-hour target. Verified problems get fixed: corrected, re-attributed, or removed.
